In 2016, my husband, our 1 year old daughter, and I went to a small mountain town near our home to look at Christmas lights. We stopped for fast food and pulled over onto a frontage road to eat our meal. We noticed the house was for sale and took down the address to look at later.
A few months had gone by and we were finally in the market to buy a new home. We couldn't find the house we had eaten dinner next to, so we added a few houses in the neighborhood. One was at the top of a very steep hill, and with a child who loves to play outside, it was not ideal. Another was forty-five minutes up the mountain in a lovely gated community. But the roads to it would not be plowed during snow and the yard was not fenced in. Finally, we came to a house that had been recently renovated and had exactly what we were looking for. To our surprise, it was the house we had eaten near during our Christmas light dinner, but the address was different than we thought. The front door faced one street, but the address was on another.
Fast forward a year and a half and we now live in that home. Our daughter has had two birthdays here, we've added chickens, and made memories in this small town. We couldn't have picked a better home to raise our daughter in and start our young family.
