Hey everyone! How are you doing? Anyone else feel like it's the apocalypse? We have had nothing but cloudy weather in my town for over a week! And let me tell you, it bumps that "creep-factor" up to 9! It even snowed on Monday. Sheesh!
So, I'm officially 30! Yep! I can't believe it. It almost feels like nothing happened because my birthday was dwarfed by this virus, but I can't complain. Actually, I am really digging this season. Okay, not the whole pandemic thing, but things slowed down for me and I get to take a breather for a few weeks. I think I was stretching myself too thin and this gives me a second to just focus on my work and my family.
Not only was it my birthday, but Short Autumn Days turns one year old March 21! Everyone clap! *clap* *clap* *clap* Okay, that's enough. I was going to hold out until April 3 to release the updated version, but since I had a lot of time on my hands, I finished early. As of today, Short Autumn Days is once again available on Kindle and paperback through Amazon. Last Winter Days and Cloudy Spring Days should be ready very soon.
The final installment is giving me a bit of trouble if I'm honest. I know the way I want it to end, but how I get there is the problem. There are some really great scenes and I could not be happier with how it is going. Be on the lookout for a title reveal in the next month and cover to follow!
Now, I want to share something that has weighed on my heart for some a few days. I think all of us can agree that if we aren't scared we are at least concerned. Up until yesterday, I was not worried at all. But things are rapidly changing and the risk of exposure is getting higher.
With that, people are getting more anxious and less civil. Let us remember Yoda's words,
"Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering."
It is okay to be scared. None of us really know what is going on or what to expect. This is new for everyone. But we have to remember our humanity. We have to focus on the good in all of us because this WILL end, and we want to come out the other side with our dignity.
As Lenore says "...I can tell you that eventually, even if it is a long time from now, we will overcome this. We always do. It is never truly the end of the world.”
Keep your heads up, fellow humans! We are stronger and better than this. Focus on the light at the end of the tunnel and sooner or later, we will get there.
