ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Lorena Para
I was born on a Friday in 1990. When I was three years old, my parents moved
from Southern California to New Mexico (USA) where I lived until graduating in
2008. After, I went back to California for college, where I met my husband
during my junior year. We married in 2013. Two days before our second
anniversary, we welcomed our daughter. Seven years later, our
surprise son joined us.
My books are heavily influenced by grief and loss. Every major moment in my life (from my 21st birthday, college graduation, my wedding, and even the birth of my children) has an equally significant loss. I use these events to sprinkle realism into my characters, as well as deal with my own emotions toward being the matriarch of my line in my 30s.
When I’m not finding ways to talk about my dead parents I can be found homeschooling my daughter, creating stickers for my Etsy shop, playing video games, or consuming all forms of Star Wars media. My husband and I have a hobby homestead where I get to live my cottage core dreams with my chickens and ducks.
I’m a collector of facts, hoarder of emails, lover of coffee, keeper of memories, and aficionado of road trips.
My second-grade classroom was space-themed, and I think that is when my
fascination with what is outside of our atmosphere began. I always dreamed of
going to the stars, and maybe someday that will happen. Until then, I’ll sit
with my laptop and write about characters who can.
